How to boot Linux after Windows XP installation Part 2

A couple of weeks ago, John Doe wrote a tutorial about how to make Linux work after you've installed Windows XP, which, of course, has made your Linux primary partition inactive.

Well, let's say you try a different solution, like I did, the one found here (Recovering GRUB after reinstalling Windows section). Everything was fine and dandy, except I couldn't boot Windows after that. What was the problem? I'm a noob, so of course I didn't know. Luckly, there is #ubuntu, with some very helpful people. They helped solve the problem, so I figured I'd share the solution.

PCLinuxOS 2009.2 Review

Mandriva Linux (formerly known as Mandrake Linux) is an operating system that had so much recognition that various forks were made out of it to further make Linux accessible to enthusiasts and newbies while at the same time overcoming some of its weaknesses.

PCLinuxOS was among these forks and opened up in 2007 with a lot of potential because of its easier installation process and best preserved features of the original OS. From there, a community made 2008 version surfaced having code that is more diverse than Mandriva and Live Install features and then only minor updates were seen.

MorphOS 2.3

The MorphOS development team released MorphOS 2.3 a free update for users of MorphOS 2.2, 2.1 and 2.0

Like any other release it features a multitude of bug-fixes, optimisations and new features including new configuration options for the MorphOS display engine, useful utilities for the screen bar and read-only support for HFS+ formatted volumes.

KDE 4.3.0 Release

Have no fear KDE 4.3 is here and it's shaping up to be a great release.

Here are some random stats that do justice to this project:

  • 10,000 bugs have been fixed.
  • close to 63,000 changes were checked in by a little under 700 contributors.
  • 2,000 feature requests were implemented in the past 6 months

Mac OS X bandwidth monitoring with Surplus Meter

In any operating system, it is possible for an internet user to monitor the bandwidth usage. This is useful to keep track of internet usage in case you have a maximum bandwidth cap or download limit. To begin you need to install a software called SurplusMeter on your OS X. SurplusMeter can be downloaded from here.
