Hey guys, I'm starting a new series today, it's called Ubuntu Featured Apps.
Today I'm going to do a small overview of a nifty backup solution called Déjà Dup

As you can see the program has a very simple interface with only two buttons, restore and backup.

Clicking the backup button brings you to the first step in which you're required to select a backup location, and to choose if you want to encrypt your backup.
Then you can choose which folders to backup, and which to ignore.
Clicking Next will bring you to the summary.

If you selected the encryption option you can now input the password.

Backing up progress

Ta-da, backup finished.

Restoring is similar.

Input your password if you had chosen encryption.

Choose the date of the backup.

And the backup location

Restore Summary

Restore Progress

Ta-da, completed.
Remember, the backup software does a full backup of your user's directory structure, so even if you're just backing up the documents directory, the backup will actually contain /home/username/documents and could give you an error if you're trying to overwrite something.

I hope you liked the short overview. ;)
